Long synopsis : Dean is a young photo-journalist haunted by the violent images he brings back from Central America - an assignment that marks the beginning of an endless descent. Numbed, adrift, unable to readapt to the social and moral status quo of the west, he is compelled to seek and experience ever-harsher realities - it’s the only way he can feel truly alive. From India to Iraq, from Haiti to China, Dean plunges headfirst into an insatiable and self-destructive addiction. Each time he returns home to New York, the need grows stronger, his body and spirit crying out for violence. He hunts for relief in the darkest, most dangerous places the city has to offer. Will Dean cross the final boundary and lose himself forever? Or will he find redemption?
