Long synopsis : Searching for Keltoum, the mother who abandoned her as a baby, Rallia, a beautiful young woman, returns from the West to her birthplace: the forsaken and inhospitable deserts of the Maghreb. She is told by relatives only that Keltoum works far away, in a hotel in the big city. Accompanied by her grandfather and half-mad aunt, Nedjma, Rallia embarks on a painful journey through a pitiless landscape scarred by intolerance, violence and the desperation born of unthinkable poverty: a journey that will lead her to Keltoum and the devastating truth she seeks.
