Short synopsis : Etienne is about to become head of a large industrial group. Married to the beautiful Clemence, he’s a man with everything. When he runs into Patrick, a long-lost childhood friend, Etienne ends up confessing that years earlier, he took credit for a formula devised by an obscure chemist named Michelet, which became the company’s bestselling product. Patrick convinces him to visit Michelet, to make amends. But things go horribly wrong and Patrick ends up killing the chemist. Etienne's life becomes a nightmare. Caught up in the police investigation, he falls under the spell of Fleur, Michelet's daughter, who contacts him in the hope of learning more about the misanthropic father she barely knew. Patrick is arrested and charged with murder. He blackmails Etienne: either he helps him escape, or Patrick will turn him in. For Etienne there's only one desperate choice left...
